Def: 1. a period of evaluation of person 's suitaility before he is finally accepted for a postion
Example: Probation is the last stage of recruitment process when the employer can really get to know the employees knowledge and skills.
Def: 2. the suspension of a prison sentence and placing the offender under supervision of a probation officer. Probation is imposed for lesser crimes.
Example: The judge sentenced the famous actress to three year's probation for a shoplifting.
