Def: a self-balancing two-wheeled motorized personal vehicle consisting of a platform for the feet mounted above an axle and an upright post surmounted by handles
Example: The multi-millionaire owner of the company that makes Segway motorised scooters died in a freak accident while riding one of his vehicles. Segways are banned on British roads for safety reasons, but are legal on private land.
 
Usage note  
Origin: an invented word based on 'segue' which is pronounced /'segwei/ and means 'change smoothly from one song or subject of conversation to another without stopping'.
